Iris Thomason Suliveres-age 90, originally from Puerto Rico went home to be with the Lord on April 2, 2013. Iris was born in Utuado Puerto Rico on August 3, 1922 to the late Antonio Suliveres and Isabel Caloca Roig. She was a loving, spiritual, educated and no nonsense mother who always spoke her mind. She taught for more than 50 years at various educational institutions including Clinton High School during desegregation. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Clinton, Tennessee. She enjoyed entertaining and socializing with family and friends with her great food and piano playing. She was dearly loved and will surely be missed by her family and friends. In addition to her parents, Iris is preceded in death by the father of her children Joel C Thomason and husband Leo Vidal. She is survived by her sister Isabel Caloca Suliveres, daughters, Diana Thomason of Norris, Frances E. Anderson & husband Grant of WI; son, Robert H Thomason & wife Linda of NV; grandchildren Mary Beth Anderson, Grant Anderson, Douglas Thomason, Jennifer Thomason, Ryan Thomason; great grandchildren, Brady and Hannah Jones, Austin, Jake, Rylee and Gabriella Anderson, special niece Anita and nephew Oscarito of Puerto Rico, special friend Karen and a host of cherished relatives and friends. The family would like express a heartfelt thanks to the staff at Golden Living Center-Windwood and Amedisys for their loving care.
In lieu of flowers, Iris has requested donations be made to First Baptist Church Missions at P. O. Box 268 Clinton, TN 37717 or to your favorite charity.
The family will receive friends Saturday, April 6th from 1-3PM at First Baptist Church of Clinton. Memorial service will follow with Rev. Stan Elliott and Rev. Bill Sanderson officiating.
