Irene Amelia Foust Ridings, one of the most beautiful names written in the Lambs Book of Life, it warms our soul to hear it. For it is our mother. She was born on June 30th, 1917 and went to be with the Lord on February 20th, 2012. She always had a story to tell, full of life, humor, and positive in her attitude. She was never greedy or selfish. Always, giving, caring and loving toward her family, friends and everyone she met.
She was there when her father told her three days before he died that he was leaving her. She was there with her mother, in the dim light of the hospital room at 3:00 AM when Maggie said "Irene, Irene it is broad day light, look at the streets of gold and it is the prettiest place I have ever seen" as her mother's soul entered into heaven. She was there with her brother Andrew, when in his last breath a big smile came over his face as his soul entered into heaven.
Mother was preceded in death by her husband of over 49 years and our dad Curtis William Ridings, her father and mother, William and Maggie Foust, brothers Andrew, Ed, Harb, Gene, Tom, and Lenard Foust. She is survived by her daughter Connie Ridings, Son and daughter in law Mickey & Teresa Ridings, of Nashville, TN, her grandchildren, John Ridings of Harrogate, England, Rhett Ridings and LeeAnna Melton of Nashville, TN and Brooke Hickman of Springhill, TN, her great grandchildren, Emily and Henry Ridings and Madeline and Miles Melton. She is survived by her nieces and nephews that she dearly loved. Irene was baptized and became a member of Zion Baptist Church at the age of 15 when the Holy Spirit came upon her and she ran down the church aisle and jumped into her brother Andrews's lap who was singing in the choir. Irene was a 50 year member of the Eastern Star.

The family will receive friends Saturday, February 25th, from 12-2PM at Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton. Funeral service will begin at 2 o'clock with Rev. Glen Gamble officiating.
