Ira Wayne
Burnett
Aug 28, 1957 — Jun 18, 2025
Clinton
Ira Wayne Burnett, age 67 of Clinton, passed away peacefully and met his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, June 18, 2025.
Ira attended Norris First Baptist Church and he cherished time spent with his loved ones, especially his grandchildren, who brought him immeasurable joy. He possessed a remarkable ability to connect with people, never meeting a stranger. He had a talent for turning discarded items into beautiful and unique treasures. His passion for yard sales, flea markets, and thrift stores wasn't just about finding bargains; it was about discovering potential and unleashing his creative spirit. He shared countless happy memories with his wife, Cindy, including many travels they enjoyed together. His furry companions, Kelly Rae and Coco Chanel, also held a special place in his heart. He could grow anything, and loved to sit on his porch surrounded by his beautiful gardens.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy Chandler Burnett; father, Bobbie Robert Burnett; sister, Rita Phillips; brother, Robert Dale Burnett; maternal grandparents, Dora Mae Chandler and Ira Londus Chandler.
He will be deeply missed by his wife, Cynthia "Cindy" Burnett; son, Christopher Burnett and wife Rebecca; step sons, Joshua Bardill and wife Carrie, Jacob Bardill and wife Raven; sister, Dora Burnett Toia; grandchildren, Isaac Burnett, Hannah Burnett, Callum Duggan, Lillith Bardill, and Emma Bardill; step mother, Margret Burnett and family from Bad Hersfeld, Germany; sisters-in-law, Sheila Johnson and husband Richard, Pamela Childress, and Robin Hock and husband Donnie. The Chandler family (his aunts, uncles, and cousins) held a special place in his heart and he loved them dearly.
A graveside service with Full Military Honors will be on Wednesday, June 25, 2025 at 12:30 pm at East Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery, 2200 E Governor John Sevier Highway, Knoxville, Tn 37920. Pastor David Seiber will be officiating.
