Imojean "Jean" Burgess, age 87 of Powell, passed away May 29, 2015 at Tennova Residential Hospice in Knoxville. She had lived in the Claxton Community for 55 years. She was a member of Edgemoor Baptist Church. Jean retired from Levi's in Knoxville. She enjoyed cooking and gardening.
Preceded in death by her husband, James "Jim" Herbert Burgess; parents, Jacob B. and Fannie Britton Carter.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, June 3rd from 6-7PM at Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton. Funeral service will follow with Rev. Tom Byrge officiating.
