Brother Hubert Edgar Sharp, age 86, resident of Norris, TN, went to be with our Lord and Savior after a long illness with cancer on July 8, 2010. Born March 23, 1924 at home in Andersonville, TN, to the late Alvis and Angeline Hartley Sharp. He is greatly respected and loved by his family including his 60 nieces and nephews. He was an ordained deacon and a church member of Indian Gap for 41 years. He visited Liberty Baptist Church and felt like a member of their family for several years and attended there before he died. He worked in Indiana for several years. He retired 1986 working for the City of Norris for 13 years. He was preceded in death by: grandparents Jake and Parley Pose Sharp, Marion and Rachel Leanie Oaks Hartley, parents Alvis and Angeline Sharp, brothers Homer (Mossie), Harley (Ora), Millard (Ruth), and Bill Sharp, and sisters Lillie (Emory) Wallace, Maggie (William) Woosley, and Bonnie Sharp. He is survived by Aunt Lorene Sharp and nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at Holley Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton Sunday, July 11 from 2-4 p.m. Funeral service held in the chapel at 4 p.m. Rev. Ray Hill of Liberty Baptist Church and Rev. Lester Mullins of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church officiating. Interment following chapel funeral with graveside services at New Home Baptist Church cemetery.
