Henry Lee "Spook" Taylor, age 62, joined his Heavenly Father on December 14, 2015. Born in Middlesboro, Kentucky, he later relocated to Clinton, TN. He joined the army at age 16 and was stationed in Fort Hood, Texas. He was a loyal and dedicated employee of Oak Ridge Utility District for 25 years where he had close friendships with many of his co-workers and supervisors.
Henry's blood ran blue with Kentucky pride. He was an avid fan who loved both basketball and football, but basketball was his favorite.
Preceded in death by parents Anna Kate Taylor and Titis Eely, Wife, Suzanne Gilliam Taylor, sister, Cindy Simpson, brothers Lonnie "Outlaw" and Johnnie Taylor, Aunt Nancy Wells,, Uncle George Wells, Aunt Linda Taylor, and niece Dianna "Boobie" Taylor and her children "Little Christie" and Clay Tillery. Dearest friends Tommy "Swann" Hayden, Doug Weaver, James Yancy, and Nettie Jane.
He was a gentle father who always loved and provided for his children and grandchildren. They were his world. He is survived by sons, Leeshaun Goins Taylor (Jessica Grubb), Shaquille Taylor (Alisha Brock) and Aidan Taylor, stepsons Shane Herrin and Matau Goins, and stepdaughters Christina Carpenter, Heather Holbrook and Nashea Hampton; granddaughters, Aleigha Carpenter, Cailyn and Lexi Taylor, grandsons Tallis Taylor, Bentley Ray Phillips and Zylan Brown; Special friend and partner Chesney Anderson. Sisters Lillie Soles, Linda Taylor, Vanessa Claiborne, Cousin William Crockett and his son Nathaniel Crockett. Devoted nieces and nephew, Amber, Bryan, and Heather Claiborne, Chantel, Ashley, and Lamont Simpson, and Frankie Taylor.
The family would like to specially thank Scottie "Shaq"Gallaher, the Gallaher family, and ORUD family for making sure our father was well cared for and loved during his battle with cancer.
We have been overwhelmed with the love and support you have shown us, and we are eternally thankful.
The family will receive friends 5:00-7:00 pm, Thursday, December 17, 2015 at Holley Gamble Funeral Home with funeral service following in the chapel. His burial will be 11:00 am, Friday, December 18, 2015 at Norris Memorial Garden. Holley Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton is in charge of all arrangements.
