Brown, Helen Cecile Long-- age 89, of Farragut, TN, joined our Lord and Savior in heaven on July 24,2012, at 5:30 am. She was a devout Christian all of her life. She was born August 27, 1922 in Roane County, TN and was preceded in death by her parents, Luther C. and Cecile Long of Harriman, TN. She was a 1940 graduate of Harriman High School. She was a devoted homemaker and mother. She lived in Clinton, TN from 1947 until 1968. She was a member of Memorial United Methodist Church in Clinton where she taught Sunday school and was a youth group counselor. She was also a leader of the Girl Scouts and a Cub Scout den mother while in Clinton. Following 53 years of marriage, she was the widow of Edwin L. Brown who was vice president of Magnet Mills in Clinton and later vice president of Camp Hosiery in Lenoir City, TN. Survivors: son and daughter-in-law, L. Terry (Bud) and Jean Brown, of Oliver Springs, TN; daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Robert Meredith of Jonesboro, GA; grandchildren Mike Brown of Seattle, WA, David Meredith and wife April of Farragut, TN, USAF TSgt. Aaron Meredith and wife Jonalyn of Guam, Jennifer Meredith of Knoxville, TN; great grandchildren Kayla, Asher, and Cannon Meredith of Farragut, TN and Je'anne, Devin, and Bre'elle Meredith of Guam. The family will receive friends Thursday, July 26, 2012, from 5-7:00 pm at Holly-Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton, TN followed by a memorial service at 7:00 pm. Interment will be at the Harriman City Cemetery in Harriman, TN on Friday, July 27, 2012, following graveside services at 11:00 am.
