Hazel H Beets, born May 11, 1917, died July 23, 2014 at home surrounded by family and friends after extended ill health. She was the last remaining and youngest child of Ollie and Sewell Hallcox, which preceded her in death along with siblings Frank, Freddie, Roudan, Ethel, Rex and Ray. She was married 49 years to Eugene V. Beets who preceeded her in death in 1986. Their son, Billy Eugene died in 2002, leaving granddaughter Amy K. Campbell and grandson, William Dee Beets, and Hazel's daughter-in-law Anita F. Beets, all of Knoxville. Hazel grandchildren include: Phillip Campbell (Amy and Mickey Campbell) Tyler Green, Riley Beets (Will Dee Beets) and step-grandchildren: Austin and Kendall Timko (William Dee and Julia Beets). She also had many, many dear nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

She was a 50 year member of Eastern Star. For many years she was a member of Second Baptist Church in Clinton where she was very involved in Young At Heart. She also worked as a teacher assistant with the Clinton Elementary schools for many years.

The family would like to thank Dr. William Culbert, her family physician, and Dr. McLaughlin of Parkway Cardiology Associates, and the staff at Clinton Drug store, and especially Jim McBride, pharmacist. The family appreciates the help of various caregivers who have assisted in her care over the recent years, especially Seniors Helping Seniors, and especially Esther Miller. Mossie Edwards contributed many hours of TLC in her last days.

Hazel's home-going celebration, facilitated by Holly-Gamble in Clinton will be Friday, July 25th, with sharing of friends and family from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm followed by her memorial service with Rev. Jim McPherson and Dr. Michael Thompson officiating. Immediately after the service, her burial will take place in Anderson Memorial Gardens.
