Hattie Margaret 'Totsy' Burress, age 83, went to her heavenly home on August 4, 2025. She accepted Jesus as her Lord and Savior many years ago. She knew that she would spend eternity walking on streets of gold. Her earthly body gave out on her, but her heavenly body will last forever. She will be missed by all those who loved her.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dennis H. Burress, her parents Delbert and Laura Payne, brother, Gene Payne, and sister, Patsy Robbins Sharp.
Left to cherish her memory are son, Wayne (Angie) Burress and daughter, Myra (Rick) Keever. Grandchildren: Meredith Burress, Evan (Samantha) Burress, Travis (Katie) Keever, and Ryan Keever (fiancé Brandi Wood). Great-Grandson: Henry Keever. Sister: Lois Pearl Creekmore
Nieces and Nephews: Sonya (David) Parker, Robert Robbins, Bruce (Gina) Creekmore, Debbie (Jeff) Prewitt, and Kenneth (Lori) Payne.
A graveside service will be held on August 8, 2025, 2:00 in the afternoon , at Woodhaven Memorial Cemetery, with Pastor Michael McGrath leading the service.
The family would like to thank Gentiva Hospice and Life Care Center of Blount County and Morningview Village Senior Living.
