Harvey Durrell Smith, age 84, of the Claxton Community, passed away Friday, June 8, at Oak Ridge Hospital. He was a faithful member of Riverview Baptist Church. He was a member of the Carpenter's
Local #50 and Mason Lodge of Beaver Ridge in Karns. He was preceded in death by parents Arthur and Lonnie Smith of Munford, AL., Brothers - Calford Smith of Karns, TN, Wayne and Coley Smith of Munford, AL. Sisters - Winifred and Virginia Smith of Munford, AL. and Mildred Pierce of Munford, AL.
Nephew - Dale Smith of Karns, TN. Survived by wife of 58 years, Georgia Scarbrough Smith, Daughters - Kathy and Steve Breeden and Julia and Hubert Green of Claxton, Judy Hill of Andersonville. Sons - Michael Wayne and Anita Smith, Glenn and Missy Smith, David and Billie Smith, and Robert Smith all of Claxton. Grandchildren - Steven and Brandy Breeden, Vanessa and Stevie Fox, Amanda and Matt Jenkins, Brittney and Tyler Spann, Savannah Smith, Jonathan and Rachel Smith, Rebecca Smith, Shelby and Kelcey Smith, Jason and Brandon Green, and Cheyenne Freeman. Great-Grandchildren - Braydon and Bristol Jenkins and Peyton and Reese Fox. Nieces - Linda and Jack Gardner and Brenda and Jim Moore. Nephew - Freddie and Mary Pierce of AL. Funeral services will be Sunday night, June 10th at Riverview Baptist Church in the Claxton Community, receiving friends from 6-8 and funeral at 8:00. Burial will be Monday at 10:00 at the church cemetery. Rev. David Hicks officiating.
