Harry Dewayne Bumgardner, 79 of Powell, passed away on June 15, 2026 at Parkwest Medical Center.

A proud veteran of the U.S. Navy, Harry spent the greater portion of his enlistment in Vietnam. But perhaps his greatest service came in the years that followed—building a beautiful life with his beloved wife Evelyn, whom he married on June 22, 1974. Together, they created something truly special. Three sons became the foundation of their world, and when grandchildren arrived, Harry's heart seemed to expand in ways he never expected. Those grandbabies held a special magic for him—they could do no wrong in his eyes, and he treasured every moment spent in their company. Harry was an avid fisherman and some of his fondest memories would have no doubt been on the water with his grandson Ryder, fishing line in hand, passing along more than just technique but wisdom, patience, and unconditional love.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Hubert and Ruth Bumgardner; brothers, James Bumgardner, Steve Bumgardner, and Paul Bumgardner; sister, Arlene Anthony.

Harry will be missed by his wife, Evelyn Bumgardner; sons, William Allen Bumgardner and wife Nikki, Timothy Jason Bumgardner, and Jonathan Adam Bumgardner; grandchildren, Jessi Cheyenne McIntosh and husband Hayden, Ryder Lee Bumgardner; great-granddaughter, Emerson Hayes McIntosh; brothers, Mark Bumgardner and wife Meredith, David Bumgardner and wife Velma; sister, Brenda Smallen and husband Arnold.

Visitation will be from 5-7 pm on Tuesday, June 23, 2026 at Holley Gamble Funeral Home. A funeral service will begin at 7 pm with Preacher David Bumgardner officiating. Family and friends will meet at Holley Gamble Funeral Home on Wednesday, June 24, 2026 at 10:15 am and we will go in procession to Woodhaven Memorial Garden for an 11:00 am graveside service.
