Gordon Hall, 89, of Norris, TN, passed peacefully into his next life on Sunday, July 8, 2012.
A Celebration of his Life will be held at the Norris Religious Fellowship in Norris, TN on Saturday, July 14 beginning at 2:00 pm. Please feel free to share any special "Gordon" stories at the reception following in the Fellowship Hall. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Norris Religious Fellowship, PO Box 267, Norris, TN 37828.
Gordon had an extended family and friends who loved him and will miss him greatly. They include: Martha Chafin of Norris; Wendy Hall of Thunderbolt, GA; Kathie and Lester Murphy of Norris; Jason and Jayme Stooksbury of Thunderbolt and children Alyssa, Ivy, Addisen, Kendall, Eric and Shelby; Curtis, Amanda and Sam Murphy of Anchorage, AK; Charlie Murphy of Knoxville, TN; Connie and Phillip Williams of Andersonville, TN and son Joseph; Janet and Frank Hale of Soddy-Daisy, TN and sons Adam and Aaron; Betsy and Jeff Anderson of Norris and children Matthew and Katrina; and Diane Evans of Clinton, TN.
Gordon was born in 1923 in Springfield, MA and grew up in the small town of Munson. He served in the Air Force in WWII as a radio instructor in Oklahoma, where he received his Master's Degree in Fisheries Biology. His career spanned many decades and was capped by his post as Chief of Fisheries at TVA.
Gordon was an intelligent, outgoing and personable man who took pleasure in the natural world, his binoculars and bird book always in hand. He grew spectacular flower gardens every year. He hiked in the Smoky Mountains, the Scottish Highlands, and the Rockies and was a world traveler. Gordon had a rich, full life and was a kind father and loving partner.
