Gertie Nicley Murphy, age 85 of Heiskell went to be with the Lord on May 10, 2010. She is a member of Piney Grove Baptist Church.

Gertie was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel Newton Murphy; parents, Eck & Emma Nicley; sisters, Sarah Nicley, Bertha Nicley, and Zella Washam; brothers, Earl, Noah, Tommy & Cornelius Nicley.

Survived by: Several nieces & nephews; friends, Betty & Jerry Thompson, Chris & Julie Thompson, Jason Thompson and Brandie Seiber, Candy & David Neubert, Robert & Dot Wilkerson, Calday & Mildred Wyrick, Steve & Edith Tadlock, Stacy & Kristen Tadlock, Dana Beauchamp, Wilma Phillips & Sue Wilson.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, May 13, 2010 from 6-8PM at the Holley-Gamble Funeral Home with funeral service following at 8:00PM in the chapel with Rev. Jerry Walton officiating.

Family & friends will meet on Friday, May 14th at 11:00AM at Woodhaven Memorial Gardens in Claxton for graveside services. Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton is in charge of the arrangements
