George K Hall - age 83, passed away at home in Jacksboro, TN, Wednesday, November 16. He was born in Noblesville, Indiana to Kelly and Ruth Hall. George graduated from Noblesville High School where he played halfback on the varsity football team. He went on to graduate from Butler University with a BA in Business. He often recalled with pride how his Dad promised a new car to drive every year while he was in college and his Dad made good on his promise.
After graduating from Butler University he served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War and then went on to work with his father in the family business until moving to Ohio. He was a 50-year member of the Noblesville, IN Masonic Lodge #57.
He retired from General Motors and moved to Jacksboro, TN with his wife Mabel Irene McCloud-Hall in 1998. George is survived by his wife Mabel; three children, Laura Mitchell of Oregon, Lisa Fischer of Washington State, Thomas Hall of Jacksboro, Tennessee; two stepchildren, Carolyn McCloud of Texas, Marty Tullio of California and his niece Sherrie Kudla of California. He was the proud grandfather of seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
A service for the family is being held Saturday, November 19 at 1:00 p.m. at the Holly-Gamble Funeral Home in Lake City, TN.
