Geneva Poore Shown, age 81 of Anderson County, passed away June 12, 2011, at Park West Medical Center. Mrs. Shown worked at Park West Hospital and cleaned offices before she retired. She had lived in the community since 1957 and was a member of Riverview Baptist Church on Blacksferry Road for over 42 years. She was devoted to her family and will be deeply missed.

Preceded in death by husband, Carl Shown; daughters, Carlene Horton, Linda Hicks;
son, James David Shown.

Eight grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren

The family will receive friends Wednesday, June 15th, from 6-8PM at Holley Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton. The funeral service will be held Thursday, June 16th at 2:30PM at Riverview Baptist Church on Blacksferry Road in Clinton with Rev. David Belford and Rev. David Hicks officiating. Mrs. Shown will lie in state one hour prior to service. Interment will follow in Riverview Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jimmy Rose, Richard Prier, Jamie Barnard, Carl Shown, Jim Moore and Larry Rosenbalm. Holley-Gamble Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements. www.holleygamblefh.com
