Gene Tipton, age 86 of Clinton, passed away July 25, 2013, at Methodist Medical Center in Oak Ridge. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Clinton. Gene was well known in Anderson County as owner of Clinton Art Studio and Oak Ridge Portrait Studio. He also had a lifelong hobby of rock collecting and taught classes in jewelry making. Gene was a well-respected resident of Anderson County that touched so many lives in so many ways it would be hard to mention them all. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Viva Louise Tipton; parents, Dewey and Mae Tipton; son, Allen Tipton; brother, Jolly Tipton.

The family will receive friends Monday, July 29th from 6-8pm at Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton. Graveside service will be Tuesday, July 30th at 11:30am at East Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery, 2200 E. Gov. John Sevier Hwy 168, Knoxville, TN.
