Gene Lambdin Stephens, age 91, of Norris passed away in the care of her loved ones Monday, September 22, 2014 at her residence. She was a member of Norris Religious Fellowship Church. Gene graduated from Norris High School in 1941 and attended Draughn Business College. After attending Draughn Business College she worked in the early days of the Manhattan Project in Oak Ridge. Later, she went to work for TVA Forestry Division in Norris. Gene and her husband Cliff were high sweet hearts and married in 1948. In 1952 Gene and her family moved to Florida where they lived for 35 years before returning to their beloved Norris. During her years in Florida Gene was a homemaker and volunteer for the Girl Scouts of America, Red Cross. YWCA, and PTA. She was an active member of the First United Methodist Church in Clearwater and contributed to the mission work of their church. Gene and Cliff worked together to establish Clearwater Fuel Oil Company. She was an accomplished seamstress and loved knitting, crocheting, and gardening. After returning to Norris she became a member of the Norris Religious Fellowship Church, The Norris Woman's Club, and The Norris Dames.

The family will receive friends 5:30-7:30 pm, Thursday, September 25, 2014 at Holley Gamble Funeral Home with funeral services to follow in the chapel with Rev. Keith Havercamp officiaiting. Her graveside will be 11:00 am, Friday at Norris Memorial Garden. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made to, Norris High School Alumni Scholarship Fund, P.O.
