It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Gary Davis on October 12, 2025. He was born on February 25, 1947, in Long Beach, California, to the late George and Isabelle Davis. Gary lived a full and vibrant life, leaving a lasting impact on all those who had the privilege of knowing him. His spirit will forever be carried on by his devoted wife, Jana Davis.

Known for his strength as a leader, his mentorship, and his compassion, Gary constantly demonstrated care for those around him. His life lessons continue to inspire; he instilled the importance of a personal relationship with God, taking responsibility for one's own needs and actions, and working diligently to provide for the family.

Among his noteworthy accomplishments, Gary was instrumental in developing the first electric utility outage management system, a testament to his visionary leadership. He defied odds by completing his college degree in his 40's, symbolizing his determination to never stop learning. In his personal life, he held a passion for travel; together with his beloved wife, they fulfilled an adventurous journey all the way around the world.

His legacy leaves an indelible mark of kindness towards all people and illustrates a strong work ethic, working "whole soul to the Lord," as scripture often guided him. Gary's love for nature was evident in his cherished personal "park," complete with lush foliage, carpet-like grass, rock waterfall fountains, and a creek bank reminiscent of the Smokey Mountains.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Jana Davis; sons, Jeffrey Davis (Lesley), Ryan Davis (Amanda); daughter, Sonya Stewart; grandsons, Ethan Davis, Micah Davis; brother-in-law, Gary Adkins (Annette) and family, Jeff Adkins' son, James Adkins"; mother-in-law, Norma Jean Adkins; special friends, Greg and Patti Goodman. Gary was also survived by many friends and coworkers who had a significant impact on his life.

The family will receive friends from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, October 25, 2025, at Holley Gamble Funeral Home, with the funeral service to follow in the chapel.  His graveside will immediately follow at Oak Ridge Memorial Park. The family invites all those whose lives were touched by Gary to join them in commemorating his life and celebrating the enduring mark he left on this world.
