Gary L. Cook, age 71, of Clinton, passed away Monday, January 27, 2025, at his residence with his loving family by his side. Gary was born November 14, 1953, in Anderson County, Tennessee, to the late James and Linos Cook. Gary was a Christian man who was a member of the First Baptist Church of Rocky Top.  Throughout his life, he loved to fish and play the banjo, but most of all, spending time with his family, especially his granddaughters, who were his pride and joy in his life.  He retired from Carlisle Tire in Clinton after 45 years of service and was one of the oldest Press Operators in history.  In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his sister, Donna Cook, and brother, Larry Cook.

He is survived by his loving wife, Cheryl Cook of Clinton; daughter, Sonya Elliott & husband Mark of Clinton; granddaughters, Cassidy Crowley & husband Austin, Blakely Walden; great-grandchildren, Tristan, Waylon, DeLynn, Daisy, and Madelyn Crowley; sisters, Brenda Copeland & husband Bob, Linda Bassett & husband Eddie, and Gayle Clark & husband Dan; several nieces and nephews.

The family will have a Celebration of Life service held at a later date.  In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made to the Shriners Hospital.  Holley Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton is in charge of all arrangements. Holleygamble.com
