Everett Lee Bruffett, age 85, of Heiskell, passed away at his home on Thursday, May 14, 2026. Born on July 20, 1940, in Blue Eye, Missouri, Everett was the son of the late Leroy Bruffett and Ollie Wolfenbarger. He attended Cedar Grove Baptist Church.
Everett was a hardworking man who spent many years as a self-employed upholsterer, a trade he took great pride in. Outside of work, he found joy in the outdoors and especially loved hunting. He will be remembered for his strong work ethic, quiet strength, and love for his family and friends.
In addition to his parents, Everett was preceded in death by his beloved first wife of 53 years, Shirley Bruffett; his second wife of 9 years, Agnes Bruffett; his daughter, Patricia "Patty" Osborn; his sister, Ernestine Willis; and his stepfather, John Wolfenbarger.
Left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Gail Risden and husband Cecil; grandchildren, Cynthia Nance and husband Darin, Kristi McMahan and husband Jason, Lee Risden and wife Kristin, and Rey Risden; great-grandchildren, Jenna Justice and husband Tristen, Katlyn Overton and husband Leslie, Cooper Nance, Reagan and Braden Majors, Jordan and Jase Risden, Audi Garcia, and Fernando and Mateo Risden; and great-great-grandchildren, Paris and Brynlee Justice. He also leaves behind special friends, Rick and Annette Barnett, and Ginnie Stalvey, along with many other relatives and friends who will deeply miss him.
Everett's life was marked by devotion to family, dedication to his work, and appreciation for the simple things in life.
The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 pm, Monday, May 18. 2026 at Holley Gamble Funeral Home with a funeral service to follow in the chapel with the Rev. Billy Moore officiating. Friends and family will meet at 10:15 am, Tuesday, May 19, 2026, at go in procession to Piney Grove Baptist Church Cemetery for an 11:00 am graveside service. Serving as pallbearers will be Rey Risden, Kevin Elliott, Lonnie Sherwood, Justin and Jonathan Moore, Nathan Hatmaker, and Ricky Irwin.
