Evelyn Acuff Lawes, age 91, of Clinton, passed away Monday, April 7, 2014 at Morning Pointe Assisted Living. She was born January 21, 1923 in Caruthersville, Missouri to Pinkie Burgess Acuff and Delphia Mills Acuff. She retired from the Atlanta Public School System in 1992 as a reading specialist. She was accomplished pianist and organist. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Clinton, TN and formerly a member of First Baptist Church in Decatur, GA. Preceded in death by parents; husband Rev.William Daniel Lawes; sister, Mary Acuff Cullum; brothers, Burgess Acuff and Dr. William J. Acuff.

A celebration of her life will be held 11:00 am at Green Lawn Cemetery in Roswell, Georgia on Saturday, April 12, 2014 with Rev. Tim Willis of Clemson, South Carolina officiating.
