Evelyn McCune Cason, age 85 of Clinton, TN, passed away Saturday, January 11, 2025.
The family will receive friends at New Salem Baptist Church in Clinton TN on Monday, January 20,2025 from 4:00-6:00 pm with funeral service to follow at 6:00 pm, with The Rev. Jason Stokes officiating. Interment Service will be held on Tuesday, January 21,2025 at 2:00 pm at Providence First Baptist Church Cemetery in Williamson, GA.
Mrs. Cason was born on January 9, 1940, in Atlanta, GA to the late Edward Earl McCune Sr. and Anne Kenney McCune. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by sister, Rochelle McCune Hooks and brother, Edward Earl McCune Jr. She is survived by her husband of 41 years, Dennis Lamar Cason; stepmother Evelyn Livingston McCune; sister-in-law Debbie McCune Powell of McDonough, Ga, stepson, Steve Cason of Knoxville, TN; stepdaughter, Tammy Osborn (Jim) of Blaine, WA; 3 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren. 5 nieces and nephews, 14 great nieces and nephews and 2 great great nieces.
Mrs. Cason graduated from Reinhardt College and began working at the Baptist Bookstore in Atlanta where she worked for 23 years. She attended sign language classes at Cruselle-Freeman Church of the Deaf in 1964. She met her husband at this church 18 years later and moved to Clinton, TN. She worked at the Clinton Christian bookstore for 18 years until her retirement in 2001. She was the church photographer and Sunday School teacher for many years at New Salem Baptist Church. Mrs. Cason dedicated her life to helping others in need. She was an avid photographer and loved teaching children. She lived a life in service to others. She deeply loved her family and friends.
