Eva Vowell, age 100 of Briceville, went to be with the Lord on June 8, 2012 at the Summit View of Lake City. She was born on March 2, 1912 in Corbin, KY to the late William and Lily Roaden. Eva was a member of the Briceville First Baptist Church for 80 years where she taught Sunday School for 50 years. Eva loved to witness to others and talk about the Bible. She also enjoyed working in her garden, quilting, and spending time with friends. In addition to her parents, Eva is preceded in death by husband, Alvin Vowell, and several brothers and sisters.

The family will receive friends at the Holley Gamble Funeral Home in Lake City on Saturday, June 9, 2012 from 6:00 to 8:00pm. Eva will lie in state at the Briceville First Baptist Church on Sunday, June 10, 2012 from 1:00 to 2:00pm with her funeral service to follow at 2:00pm with the Rev. Jimmy Ault and Rev. Tim Russell officiating. Eva's graveside will follow at the Oak Ridge Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Building Fund at Briceville First Baptist Church, 509 Lower Briceville Road, Briceville, TN 37710.
