Ervin Phillips, 89, of Briceville, Tennessee passed away January 23, 2014 at Parkwest Medical Center.

He was born to the late Rev. Lee C. Phillips and Haley Wilson Phillips, March 22, 1924, in Briceville, Tennessee. He was married to Juanita "Nina" Phillips, for 68 years and they made their home in Briceville, Tennessee.

Ervin was a devoted husband, a loving father and grandfather who treasured spending time with his family and friends. He enjoyed model trains sets, camping and fishing with his family, found pleasure working on cars, in the yard and being outdoors, they were both members of Laurel Branch Baptist Church and were also members of the CB club, his and Juanita's handle was "Beeswax and Glowworm." He was also, a 32nd Degree Master Mason of Briceville, Tennessee and a member of the Eastern Star in Lake City.

Ervin was a member of the Boiler Makers Knoxville Tennessee. He worked construction all around the South Eastern United States, building Steam and Nuclear Plants for the Tennessee Valley Authority.

Ervin is survived by three children: Brenda Phillips Braden, of Briceville; Michael Phillips and wife Kathy of Manchester; Debra Jane Phillips Martin and husband Joe of Manchester. He is also survived by his special grandchildren: Tesha Jarnigan and husband Chris; Chris Braden and his late wife April; Wayne Braden and wife Tammy; Melody McCormick; Mikey Phillips; Misty Weaver and husband Jeff; Mickey Phillips and wife Rebecca; Charlie Phillips and wife Amanda; Jonathan Martin and wife Tiffany; Katrina Fulks and husband Floyd; Dustin Phillips; 23 great grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren due in the spring and 1 great-great grandchild. He also cherished his beloved dogs: Little Bit and Sasha

He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 68 years, Juanita "Nina" Smith Phillips; brothers: Clarence Phillips; sisters: Alice Phillips Stocks, Ethel Phillips Duncan West, and great-great grandchild, Miah Elam.

The family will receive friends at the Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Lake City on Saturday, January 25, 2014 from 6-8PM with the funeral service to follow at 8:00PM with the Rev. Jim Ault officiating. Family and friends will meet at the funeral home on Sunday, January 26, 2014 at 1:15PM at go in funeral procession to the Woodhaven Memorial Gardens for a 2:00PM graveside with full military honors presented by the Campbell County Honor Guard. www.holleygamblefh.com
