ERNESTINE LITTLEFIELD GANN
September 10, 1922 - April 21, 2013

Ernestine Littlefield Gann, Clinton, passed away Sunday April 21, 2013 at Morning Pointe Assisted Living of Clinton. She was born September 10, 1922 in Loudon County, TN to the late Earl L. and Mary Kerley Littlefield.
She was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Clinton where she worked as Church Secretary for 25 years before her retirement in 1986. She dearly loved her church family and was blessed by serving as one of the first women deacons elected by the church. She taught Sunday school for more than fifty years, sang in the church choir, served as church clerk and on numerous committees, was active in the XYZ's and children's music ministry.
Along with her husband, James H. Gann who preceded her in death, they owned and operated Gann's Variety Stores on Market Street in Clinton and in Claxton for more than 25 years.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by granddaughter Lindsey Hackworth, brothers Raymond, Ted, Freeman and L.J. Littlefield; sisters Aileen Williams, Kathryn Parris and Mary Eubanks.
She is survived by her children Larry and wife Ann of Clinton, Barbara Sanders and husband Gary of Oliver Springs, Elaine McCall and husband Buddy of Clinton, and Lisa Hackworth and husband Jerry of Farragut. Grandchildren Kristy Phillips and husband Ted of Claxton, Chris Gann and wife Sarah of Nashville, Matthew Sanders of Jefferson City, Monica Miller and husband Josh of Clinton and Austin Hackworth of Farragut. Great grandchildren Brady and Logan Phillips, Edward and Frances Gann. Sister, Ruth Crass and numerous nieces and nephews.
Ernestine considered Morning Pointe her home for more than two years. The staff and residents became her extended family whom she loved dearly. To them, she was the lady who loved purple as much as each of them. For that special love and care, the family is especially grateful.
Memorials may be made to Clinton First Baptist Church Family Life Center.
The family will receive friends from 5:30pm to 8pm on Tuesday, April 23 at First Baptist Church, Main Street in Clinton with a service celebrating her life to follow at 8pm. Graveside services will be at 11am on Wednesday, April 24 at Woodhaven Memorial Gardens in Claxton.
