Emily Mae Bolinger Davis, of Oak Ridge and formerly of Lake City, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 2, 2017 at NHC Nursing Home / Hospice.

Emily was born on July 1, 1920 in Anderson County to the late Eli and Ina Beets Bolinger. Mrs. Davis was a Charter Member of Clear Branch Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School for many years. She was the 1937 Lake City High School Valedictorian. Emily and her dear sister, Jeanie, married two of the Davis Brothers. She proudly contributed to our country's WWII victory while working in Oak Ridge's Secret City to assist building the bomb while her husband served for five long years overseas. Emily loved cooking for her family - especially her award winning chocolate pie and turkey dressing. She enjoyed reading and cheering on the UT Vols. Her Christian faith and family were her world.

Emily is preceded in death by her husband Cledith Davis, her sister and brother in-law, Jeanie & Burrell Davis and her brother, Harley Bolinger.

Mrs. Davis is survived by her son & daughter in-law, Ronnie (Ron) & Christal Davis of West Liberty, Ohio; Grandchildren, Allison & Neil Chandler of Jacksonville, Florida, Veronica Davis of Orange Park, Florida, Trevor Davis of West Liberty, Ohio; Great Grandsons, Aidan and Ryan Chandler of Jacksonville, Florida. Special nephews, Gary Davis and DeWayne Davis.

The family will receive family & friends at the Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Lake City from 1:00pm-2:00pm on Saturday, April 8th. The funeral service will be held at 2:00pm with Reverend Randy Norton officiating. The graveside service & internment will follow immediately at Leach Cemetery in Lake City, Tennessee. www.holleygamble.com
