Elizabeth (Jimmie Ann) Wright joined her husband Gene in Heaven Friday, October 8, 2010. She was reunited with him on the same day he was laid to rest. What a glorious reunion and now they will spend eternity together in the presence of their Lord Jesus Christ. Jimmie Ann was born and raised in Clinton and was a proud cheerleader for the Clinton Dragons. She loved to reminisce about "the good old days" of growing up in Clinton. In 1957 she married Gene Wright and they spent 53 years together. They moved to Lake City when Gene became the basketball coach there and they resided there until their deaths. She was a member of 1st Baptist Church of Lake City for over 47 years. She loved getting together with her old friends especially Ann Patton and Kay Doty. She was so very proud of her children, Julie and Jody and their families. Jimmie Ann was a wonderful mother, sister and "Granny".

She was preceded in death by her husband, Gene Wright; parents, Jim and Grace Scruggs.

Survivors include her daughter Julie Minton and husband Steve of New Tazewell; son, Jody Wright and wife Kim of Clinton; sister, Gracie Allen and husband Charlie of Nashville; sisters in-law, Nadine and Marguerite Wright of Caryville; grandchildren, Lauren Wright, Michael Minton, and Mollie Wright; special cousin, Mary Jo Richardson of Connecticut.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, October 10, 2010 from 1-3:00pm at Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton. Funeral service will be at 3:00pm in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Wayne Phillips officiating. Graveside service will follow at Grandview Memorial Garden. Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton is in charge of all arrangements. www.holleygamblefh.com
