Elizabeth "Libby"
Sharpe
Oct 25, 1947 — Feb 16, 2025
Andersonville
Elizabeth "Libby" Irene Sharpe, a loving mother, Grammy, and Great G, passed away at her residence on Sunday, February 16, 2025, with her loving family by her side. Libby was born October 25, 1947, in Powell, Tennessee, to the late Luther and Dorothy Hopson. She was a member of New Home Missionary Baptist Church in Andersonville. Later in her life, she found that she had a talent for painting. She taught herself how to paint and enjoyed painting natural scenery. She was also an avid bird watcher. She had several bird feeders around her house and ensured the birds had plenty to eat. Libby also had a love for music primarily classic rock and country. She loved the Vols and was a huge Pat Head Summitt fan! Her blood ran orange especially, for the Lady Vols. But above all, she was deeply loved by her family, who were her greatest joy in life.
In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her husband Charles Edward Sharpe.
She is survived by her daughters, Robin Berrier & husband Scott of Andersonville and Stacey Capps of Powell; grandchildren, Rachell Tanguay & husband Michael of Lebanon, Vance Berrier of Andersonville, Zaine Berrier & fiancé Candice Wilkerson of Harriman, and Austin Capps & wife Elizabeth of Maryville; great-grandchildren, Lillie Tanguay, Ashyer Berrier, Ella Harmon, and Charlie Capps; brother, Jeff Hopson & wife Catrina of Powell.
The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to all the extended family members and friends who provided love and care to Libby over the years.
The family will receive friends from 11:00-11:30 am, Wednesday, February 19, 2025, at New Home Missionary Baptist Church, with a funeral service to follow. Her graveside will immediately follow at New Home Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery. Holley Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton is in charge of all arrangements. holleygamble.com
