Edna Christine Loving Smyth, known to many as Granny Smyth, dedicated Christian mother, grandmother, sister, and friend went to be with her Savior on August 5, 2010. It is the request of the family that you celebrate with us the life of this dedicated Christian woman and the inspiration she was to so many. She would not want for you to mourn for her, but she would want you to make preparation to see her again.
Ms. Smyth was a current member of New Mountain View Baptist Church and had been a member of Long Field Baptist Church for most of her life.
She enjoyed sewing, cooking, spending time with her family, and enjoyed worshipping the Lord and sharing her love of the Lord with those around her.
Ms. Smyth was proceeded in death by her husband, Dewey Smyth; Parents Lavader and Katherine Loving; sisters Beatrice Hill, Mable Vinsant , Leona Hatmaker; brothers Ivan Loving and John Loving.
She is survived by two daughters and son-in-laws, Janie and Joedy Ohr of Richmond , KY and Faye and Jerry Hopwood of Oliver Springs, TN: Four Grand children and spouses, Shannon and Bianca Hopwood, Christi and Tim Hellard, Sherry and Robert Broaddus, Keith and Andrea Ohr. Nine great grandchildren that were the light of her life, Tyler and Dawson Hellard, Matthew and Jordan Payne, Blake, Brent and Breanna Broaddus, and Andrew and Amelia Ohr. Great great grandchild, Ashton Carter Whalen is due to be born in November.
She is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many special friends.

The family will receive friends Friday, August 6, 2010 from 7-9:00pm at New Mountain View Baptist Church in Oliver Springs. Receiving of friends will also be on Saturday, August 7, 2010 from 9:30-11:00 am with funeral services following at 11:00a.m. at the church with Bro. Mike Wankowski and Bro. Rick Miller officiating. Graveside service will follow at Oak Ridge Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be grandsons and great grandsons of Ms. Smyth.
