Edna E. Hammer of Clinton, TN, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 4, 2014, in the care of her loved ones at her residence.
Edna was born in Union County, TN on July 9, 1928. She was a member of Grace Baptist Church in Clinton. She was preceded in death by her parents, Rev. E.S. Wilson and Rosa Herrell Wilson; husband of 61 years, Charles Lloyd Hammer; infant daughter, Wanda Sue; 9 siblings.
She is survived by daughter, Patricia Denny and husband Frank; granddaughters, Mechelle Ramsey, Christy Cunningham, and Stephanie Fagan and four great grandchildren; daughter, Linda May and husband John of Clinton; grandson, Jason and wife Sierra of Clinton; great grandchildren, Kaylan, Laney, and Eli; grandson, Chad May of Soddy Daisy; brother, Clifford Wilson and wife Cora Lee of Clinton; special sister in-law, Joyce Mackey of Morristown; many nieces and nephews.
Edna's flowers and yard work was her passion in life. She was a dedicated wife and mother, putting the needs of family and lifelong friends first. She was a beautiful lady both inside and out, with an extraordinary inner strength. She will be sorely missed by her children and grandchildren.
We would like to extend to Shannon, her caregiver for the past year, out most heartfelt thanks and appreciation. Words cannot express our gratitude for everything you did for our mother.

We would also like to give a special thanks to Amedisys for their diligent care over the past months and also to her private physician, Dr. Steve Masters and nurse, Melissa.

The family will have a private graveside service at Oak Ridge Memorial Park on Tuesday, October 7th at 2:00 PM with Dr. Roger Pugh officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to South Clinton Baptist Church in Clinton or to Second Baptist Church of Clinton. Holley-Gamble Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements
