Edgar "Bud" McKamey
Clinton, Tennessee

Edgar 'Bud' McKamey was born September 4, 1948 in Campbell County, Tennessee. He took his first real glimpse of Heaven on Friday, July 16, 2010 having attained the age of 61. He was the son of the late Rev. Ed and Velma Hunter McKamey. He married Karen (Wilshire) McKamey on March 18, 1967. He was preceeded in death by both his parents; brothers: Lynn, Albert, and Bill McKamey; Father-in-law: W.E. (Monk) Wilshire; and Sister-in-laws: Flossie McKamey and Doris McKamey.

He is survived by his wife Karen; Children: Lisa Akens and husband Rick, Ed McKamey and wife Shannon, Annette Gibson and husband Randall; Mother-in-law: Pearl Wilshire; Grandchildren: Jacob and Andrew Akens, Madison, Landon, and Owen McKamey, and Caitlyn and Jaren Gibson; Brothers: Jay and Melva McKamey, Robert McKamey, Andy and Pam McKamey; Sister-in-law: Darlene McKamey; Sisters - Dora Horton, Mae Pyke, Peg Bean and husband Ruben, Carol Woodard and husband Jess, Mary Brooks and husband David; Special Nephew: Glen Woodard, several nieces, nephews and friends.

He worked as a coal miner for Cross Mountain Coal Company in Campbell County before becoming disabled. He had been saved and baptized at an early age. He was a member of Jarnigan Chapel Missionary Baptist Church in Clinton, where he faithfully attended as his health permitted.

There could be none greater, as perceived through the eyes of his grandchildren. Bud was a model Christian and consistently encouraged people to depend upon the Lord. Bud trusted and believed in what the infallible Word of God promises; and his faith has now been fulfilled. Those of us that are saved can be at peace and rest in the promises God has given us. We will all meet again when Jesus comes to gather his Saints. Until then, we have that blessed assurance that to be absent from this body is to be present with the Lord.

The family will receive friends on Sunday evening, July 18th from 6:00 - 8:00 PM at Holly Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton. The funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday July 19th at Jarnigan Chapel Missionary Baptist Church in Clinton with Rev. Gary Smith and Rev. Joey Cagley officiating. Burial will follow the funeral service at Jarnigan Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery. Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton in charge of arrangements.
