Obituary

It is with great sadness that the family of
Dorothy E. Smith announces her passing on Monday, August 1, 2022, at the age of 90, of
Heiskell, TN. She was surrounded by her cousins Kay Stokes and Juanita Davis. Dorothy was
born on March 16, 1932. She attended Liberty Baptist Church.
She loved the Lord and helping others.
Dorothy was loved by all that knew her. She had a beautiful smile that could light up your soul.
She was a loving and compassionate person who had a great love for her family and friends.
Throughout her life she loved capturing moments in pictures and was so proud of sharing her
pictures with family and friends. She had a love for the outdoors and taking daily walks, talking
on the phone and visiting with family and friends. She loved sharing memories of watching her
younger cousins growing up. She was fond of the special time and memories she spent with
them such as taking them to Norris Dam and Big Ridge to ride Bicycles. Along with so many
more memories she loved sharing.
Dorothy is preceded in death by her loving parents Henry and Grace Ezell. Her first husband,
Robert Eldridge and second husband, Loren Smith. Along with other special family members
who she adored and is now reunited with.
Dorothy will be lovingly remembered by her surviving cousins, who were much more than just
cousins. They were her support group and caregivers. Carolyn Beason, Juanita Davis, Brenda
Williams & husband Burl, Kay Stokes, Darlene Simonds, Elizbeth Yarber & husband Dewey,
Leon Ezell, and Harvey Finch & wife Wanda. She had several other family members and a host
of friends that will miss her presence in their lives but will rejoice knowing she is in peace and
resting in God's loving embrace.
We will always remember Dorothy's infectious smile and caring personality. Her presence in our
lives will be sorely missed. When you think of Dorothy, celebrate the good memories you have
of her. Remember the long, beautiful life she lived to the fullest. We will stand taller and stronger
knowing you are now watching over us. Know we will forever adore and love you.
"I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith." 2 Timothy 4:7
The family will have graveside service at 11:00 am, Tuesday, August 9, 2022, at Liberty Baptist
