Doris Johns Bullock, a long time resident of Clinton, TN, passed to her heavenly home on September 21, 2016 at the home of her daughter in Gilbert, AZ. Doris was born in Englewood, New Jersey on April 22, 1927 to Edward Arthur Johns and Ruth Romme Johns. She grew up in Middlesboro, KY and was preceded in death by brothers Robert Johns and Edward Johns and sister, Jeanette Trejo. She is survived by sister, Ruth May of Elida, OH.
Doris married the love of her life, Walter L. Bullock, in Detroit, MI on February 4, 1950. They were married for 61 years, before Walter's death in 2011. She and Walter were long time members of Oak Ridge Baptist Church. After Walter's death, Doris attended New Salem Baptist Church in Clinton.
Doris loved God's Word. She studied, memorized and shared it faithfully. Doris served the Lord by sacrificially sharing her heart and home with family and friends. Her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the joy of her life. She taught them stories of Jesus. Her greatest joy was to see them come to personally know the Savior she loved so well.
Doris had three children including the late Jeffery Dean Bullock, living wife, Lisa Bullock, of Clinton, TN and daughters, Deborah L. Robbins, husband, Dennis O. Robbins, of Lawrenceville, GA and Barbara S. Lehrman, husband, Tony J. Lehrman, of Gilbert, AZ. Doris leaves, to cherish her memory, 8 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
The family will receive friends on Friday evening, September 30th from 5-7pm at Holley-Gamble Funeral Home, 621 S Charles Seivers Blvd, Clinton TN. The funeral will be held at 1pm on Saturday, October 1st at Holley-Gamble. Burial will follow the funeral at Oak Grove Cemetery located at Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church, Oak Grove Road, Lake City, TN 37769.
