Beets, Doris Joyce Rhea, 83, passed away on Thursday, January 9, 2014, at her home in the Mt. View community of Heiskell, TN. She was born April 29, 1930, to Millard Carlisle and Etta Mae Rhea. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend who will be missed by all. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and was always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.

Doris's love for the Mt. View community where she lived all but a few months of her life was evident in the book of poetry and photos she wrote about the area. She enjoyed photography, traveling, camping, ballroom dancing, lapidary, sewing, scrapbooking, people, and flowers. She was a member of Deep Springs Baptist Church of same community, and was part of the original committee that established Mt. View Park, still the focal point in the community for fun and recreation.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 46 years, Floyd Franklin Beets, Jr.; and 3 brothers, Claude Percy, Edgar Eugene, and Carl Fletcher Rhea. She is survived by her son, Dennis Ray (Cyd) Beets; daughters, Vicki Lynn Beets and Rhonda Beets Jordan; granddaughters, Christina (Nick) Forrester and Sarah (Brandon) Fryar; great-grandsons, Mason Scot Fryar and Easton Alexander Forrester; special nieces, Diane (Darrell) Parsons and Cynthia Helton; and special sister-in-law and friend Betty Ruth Beets Black.

Family extends a special thanks to Jo Bowlin, a close, dedicated friend and caregiver to Doris.

The family will receive friends Monday, January 13th, from 12:30-2:00PM at Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton. Funeral service will be at 2 o'clock in the funeral home chapel with Darrell Parsons officiating. Burial will follow at Sartin Cemetery.
