Donald Ray Vandergriff, age 82 of Clinton, passed away August 11, 2013. He was born December 17, 1930 to the late Edward Von and Lillian Young Vandergriff. He attended Clinton High School and Tennessee Tech University. In his earlier years Don carried mail in Oak Ridge. In 1949 he married his high school sweetheart Francene Harber. He worked as a machinist at Union Carbide and Martin Marietta in Oak Ridge retiring after 30 years. He belonged to St. Mark United Methodist Church and was a member of the 49ers Club. Don worked with the scouts and was one of the organizers of the girls' softball leagues. He coached girls' softball, Little League, boys' football, basketball and baseball. He always had a smile for everyone and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Loyal, Bernard and Gilreath Vandergriff; sisters, Bernice Vandergriff and June Brewer.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, August 14th from 6-8PM at Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton. Funeral service will follow with Rev. Donald Swift and Rev. John Anderson officiating.
