Don Powers, age 62 of Norris, went to be in the loving arms of Jesus Tuesday, July 2, 2013. He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church. He worked for ORNL as a skilled trade and craft painter for 27 years.
He was a member of the Painters Local 1805. Don enjoyed going to car shows, especially Hot-Rods and working on home improvement projects. He was a man of integrity as reflected in his faithfulness to his family. A man of faith, hope and love. Don loved the Lord, his family and friends. His hope was reflected in his positive attitude toward every situation. His faith in Jesus was strong and he was an encouragement to everyone he met. He will be greatly missed by his loving family, friends and co-workers.

He was preceded in death by his father, Edward Powers.

The family will receive friends Friday, July 5th from 5-7PM at Bethel Baptist Church. Funeral service will follow with Pastor Darryl Taylor officiating. Graveside service will be Saturday, July 6th at 11:00AM at Bethel Church Cemetery. Holley-Gamble Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. www.holleygamblefh.com
