Don Elum Patrick, age 81 of Powell (previously of Petros, TN), went to be with the Lord August 22, 2015. Don was a longtime member of Black Oak Heights Baptist Church and a member of the Masonic Lodge at Petros. He served in the U.S. Army then worked a long career with Ford Motor Company as well as other trucking companies. Don was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend to many.
Preceded in death by his parents, Oscar and Maggie Patrick; brothers, Elijah Patrick, Herman Patrick, Francis Marian (Butch) Patrick, Oscar (Toot) Patrick and Jack Patrick; sister, Betty Patrick; mother in-law, Virginia Zachary.
Survived by loving wife, Mary Lou Norman Patrick; sons, Steve Patrick, Terry and wife Nancy Patrick; sister, Jean Beene; sister in-laws, Marge Patrick and Geraldine Patrick; grandchildren, Rebekah (Stephen) Baker, Allison Chagnon, Cole (Kim) Patrick, Steve (Brittany) Chagnon, Jason Patrick, Lola and Deh Patrick; four great grandchildren and many other friends and family members.
The family will receive friends Monday, August 24th from 5-7 PM at Black Oak Heights Baptist Church, 405 Black Oak Drive, Knoxville, TN 37912. Funeral service will follow with Pastor Todd Stinnett and Pastor Jack Parrott officiating. Graveside service with military honors will be held at Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery Tuesday , August 25th, at 1:30PM.
