Sitton, Dessie Lee Suggs - 93, of Andersonville, Tennessee passed away Sunday morning at UT Medical Center after a brief illness. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of forty years, Ralph Lee Sitton. She is survived by her three sons; Stephen Sitton and wife Mona, Johnson City, Tennessee, Phillip Sitton of Mosheim, Tennessee, Stanley Sitton and wife Judy, of Knoxville , Tennessee; two granddaughters, Kristina Sitton Crosetto and husband Beau of Torrance , California , Hayley Sitton Satrom and husband Rob from Washington, D.C. ; and three great grandchildren, Noah Crosetto, Sophia Crosetto , and Hannah Sue Satrom. She is also survived by her sister, Louise Baxley, of Arley, Alabama and numerous nieces and nephews.
Dessie Lee Suggs was born in Homestead, Florida on March 13, 1921.Her parents were Henry Hardy Suggs and Lila Frances Floyd Suggs. She spent her early years in Hollywood, Florida. She married Ralph Lee Sitton in Broward County Florida in March of 1940. They both worked for the telephone company in Oak Ridge, Tennessee during World War Two. After the war they moved to Fountain City, Tennessee where they lived many years until they moved to their farm in Andersonville, Tennessee. Dessie was a long time member of the Fountain City Sportsman Club and of Central Baptist church. She loved her family and the celebration of Christmas as her favorite parts of life.
Funeral arrangements will be held this Thursday, July 31, at Holly-Gamble funeral home in Clinton, Tennessee from 1:00 P.M. until 3:00 P.M. , followed by a graveside burial at Norris Memorial Gardens .
Dessie Sitton was a thirty year cancer survivor. Donations can be made in her honor to the American Cancer Society.
