Dayton Sidney Carroll, age 90, of Clinton, passed away on Saturday, July 19, 2025, at his residence, surrounded by his family, to be with his heavenly Father.  Dayton was born April 20, 1935, in Hawkins County to the late Tillman and Leela Carroll.  For many years, Dayton and his wife, Rosella, enjoyed selling their home-grown produce out of a wagon on Blockhouse Valley Road. He was an avid gardener who also enjoyed making birdhouses.  Dayton had a love for working construction and was a jack of all trades.  He was a member of Farmers Grove Baptist Church.  In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his brothers, Ellis Carroll, Emory Carroll, George Carroll, Raymond Carroll, and Jessie Carroll, his sisters, Nancy Johnson, Dorothy Pickens, and Frances Garner.

Dayton is survived by the love of his life of 70 years, Rosella Carroll; children, Rose Ann Fuller & husband Gary of Knoxville, Alice Rittenhouse of Clinton, and Perry Carroll & wife Angela of Clinton; his grandchildren, Brian Dagley, Travis Rittenhouse, Wayne Carroll, Matthew Carroll, and Branson Carroll; step-grandchildren, Melissa Christopher, Todd Fuller, Terra Stephenson, and Jesse McCarty; 14 great-grandchildren; brother, Carley Carroll of Rutledge; brother-in-law, James Hicks of Clinton; numerous nieces and nephews also survive him.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 to 1:30 pm on Wednesday, July 23, 2025, at Farmers Grove Baptist Church, with a funeral service to follow at 1:30 pm, officiated by Pastor Bobby Metcalf and Rev.
