David Lee York, age 78 of Caryville, passed away on Friday, October 8, 2021 at the Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center. He was born April 24, 1943 to the late Louis F. and Pearl Pedigo York in Terre Haute, IN. Dave enjoyed traveling, reading, and motorcycling. He loved to figure out how anything mechanical worked. Dave amused his family with the same corny jokes over and over again. He liked to play board games with Debba, especially checkers. Dave was a doting husband, loving Dad, and a hands-on "Poppy" and will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by: brothers, Richard, Tom, William, Marvin, Gary; and infant grandson, Christian.

He is survived by: wife of 33 years, Deborah Hayes York; daughters, Tracy Viau (Michael) of Oak Ridge, Tricia Tweel (Jonathon) of Memphis, Jennifer Ledford of Knoxville, Allison Walker (Travis) of Caryville; son, Andrew York (Nickie) of Caryville; grandchildren, Brittany, Samantha, Nicholas, Quentin, A.J., Kenzie, Bailey, Zeke, Zander, Stella, Debba, Jamie; great-granddaughter, Eva; brother, Melvin York (Heather) of Australia; brother-in-law, Danny "Buck" Hayes of Caryville; sister-in-law, Trish McKamey (Greg) of Caryville; special friend, Harold Goodman; and other family and friends.
