David Larry Cook passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by loved ones on Tuesday, July 15, 2025.  David was born December 23, 1945, in Anderson County, Tennessee, to the late Elmer and Dinah Jones Cook.  After serving our country in Vietnam from 1966 through 1967, David returned to Clinton and began his career at Clinton Utilities Board, retiring after thirty-nine and a half years of service.  He is preceded in death by his dearly beloved wife, Sarah Deanne Nevils Cook.

He is survived by his children, Bryan (Barbie) Cook of Cookeville, Tasha (Barry) Daniel of Sunbright, and Kristina (Trey) Haury of McDonough, Georgia, nine grandchildren: Carter and Braylee Cook, Catherine (Larry) Denman, Luke (Makenna), Levi (Ashton), and Grace Daniel, Jack (Meredith), Sam and Max Haury, one great-grandchild, Adelaide Denman, and a host of family and friends. The desire of his heart was to love, honor, and serve his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ by serving and caring for others in His name.

The family will receive friends on Monday, July 21, 2025, at Holley Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton from 5:00-7:00 pm.  The Reverend Danny R. Phillips will lead a Celebration of Life service on Tuesday, July 22, 2025, at Holley Gamble Funeral Home, beginning at 11:00 a.m. His graveside will immediately follow at Grandview Memorial Gardens.
