Arnurius, David Lovell - age 78 of Norris passed away Thursday, August 28, 2014, after battling a lengthy systemic infection. David was a graduate of Norris High School and Tennessee Wesleyan College. He was in the Air National Guard during the Berlin Crisis, serving in Europe for nine months. For many years David worked in the Parts Department of Harper VW. David was an active member of the Norris Religious Fellowship. Preceded in death by his parents, Armond and Evelyn Sandstrom Arnurius of Norris, and survived by brother Don (wife Beth) Arnurius, step-mother Chesley Dale, and special friend Phyllis Harrington. David was a dearly loved uncle to Cynthia Hannon, Scott (Robin) Arnurius, Mark (Marsha) Arnurius, and Sarah (Todd) Mason. Their children (Paige, Joey, Morgan, Luke, Zack, and Hunter) for years to come will hear stories of their wonderful "Uncle David." He will be greatly missed by his many friends, many of whom lovingly visited him during his lengthy hospitalization. David was a person of high character and gentle devotedness to family and friends. He will long be remembered for his loyalty and many kind acts of service.
The family will receive friends at Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, with funeral service following at 7:00 p.m., Rev. Don Arnurius and Rev. Keith Havercamp officiating. Graveside service 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Valley View Methodist Cemetery in Claxton, with Rev. Paige Wimberly officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Norris Religious Fellowship. Holley Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton is in charge of all arrangements. holleygamblefh.com
