In Loving Memory of David Adaline

Beloved Husband, Father, Grandfather, Brother, and Friend

November 19, 1962 – July 1, 2025

David Adaline, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on July 1, 2025. He was deeply loved and will be missed beyond measure by all who had the blessing of knowing him.

He was funny and goofy in the best ways, always ready with a joke or a smile, even if he sometimes came off a little grumpy. That mix of tough love and tender care made him who he was: a true original, and a deeply loving man.

David especially loved traveling and making memories with his beloved wife, Bo (Louise). Together, they shared countless adventures and built a life full of joy, laughter, and love. After retiring at the age of 55, they spent their winters in Key Largo, soaking up the sunshine and the peace of island life. They also traveled across the U.S. in their RV, creating unforgettable memories and living every day with a sense of adventure and gratitude. Their bond was a source of strength and happiness that anchored David throughout his life.

He was incredibly proud of the life he and Bo built and the family they raised. Watching their children grow and create meaningful lives of their own brought him deep pride and fulfillment.

David loved his children, Travis and Christi, with his whole heart. He led by example, teaching them the value of hard work, the importance of family, and how to truly enjoy life. He believed in working hard and playing even harder—something he lived out through countless weekends at the lake, full of laughter, fun, and unforgettable memories. Everything he did, he did for them, always putting his family first without hesitation. David also had a heart big enough to treat his children's friends like his own, even taking in two "bonus sons," Josh Butler and Chris Ledford, who became family in every way that mattered.

He also found immense joy in being "Papaw" to his grandchildren, Eric and Harley—Travis and Kallyn's children. Whether he was sharing a silly joke, offering a life lesson, or simply spending time with them, his love and pride as a grandfather shone through in everything he did.

David was a man of many talents—able to build or fix just about anything—and he approached every challenge with hard work, quiet determination, and pride in a job well done. He spent his lifetime as a skilled pipefitter and welder, working alongside a close brotherhood at Pathway Bellows before finishing his career at ORNL. His loyalty ran deep, and those fortunate enough to know him—on the job or off—knew they could always count on him. He took great pride in his craft and the lifelong friendships he built through his work.

David was preceded in death by his mother, Judy Adaline; his brother, Johnny Adaline; and his beloved son, Eric Adaline.

He is survived by his loving wife, Bo; his son Travis Adaline and daughter-in-law Kallyn; his daughter Christi Fulford and son-in-law Boz; his grandchildren Eric and Harley; his brother Ronnie Adaline and sister-in-law Linda; and a beloved lifelong friend, Thad Sanders, along with Thad's son Dillon and Dillon's girlfriend, Kelly. He is also survived by many extended family members and friends who were lucky to know him.

A celebration of David's life will be held on Saturday July 5 at Holley Gamble Funeral Home from 2:00-4:00pm. All are welcome to come honor and remember a man who lived with humor, heart, craftsmanship, and unwavering love for his family.
