Heiskell
Conant "Nat" Ellison of Heiskell, Tennessee died on October 12, 2024, from what doctors have labeled a "Catastrophic Neurological Event." He was 72 years old.
Conant was born in Augusta, Georgia to Frances and Roy Ellison. He grew up in South Carolina and Delaware before joining the U.S. Army after high school. He was stationed in Germany.
After leaving service, Conant earned multiple types of pilot licenses and built a career flying helicopters for the oil companies in Louisiana.
Conant was an avid animal lover, outdoorsman, and gun advocate. He taught gun safety for the State of Tennessee after his retirement for several years. He has participated in numerous shooting competitions, locally and nationally, achieving the level of Master. In 2021 and 2022, he won recognition as world champion senior open division, 1st and 2nd place respectively. Conant will be remembered by family and friends not only for these accomplishments, but for his "wicked" sense of humor and his skill as a woodworker and generosity for gifting friends with this skill in personalized creations and treasures.
Conant is survived by his companion of 25 years, Kimberly Fritts; sister Elise Penn of Austin Texas; niece Kachina Milligan of Austin, Texas; nephews Omar Penn of Austin, Texas, Andrew Ellison and Lee Ellison of Laurel, Delaware.
There will be a gathering for family and friends on October 27, 2024, from 2:00-4:00PM at a private venue, attendees are encouraged to bring any gifts made by Conant in his workshop to share, along with a favorite story of experiences shared with "Nat".
In lieu of flowers, donations to local animal shelters and/or Toys for Tots will be greatly appreciated. www.holleygamble.com
