Clyde Cook, Sr. passed in peace at his home, Monday, June 15, 2015 at the age of 94. He is survived by his loving wife Ely Smith Cook. They journeyed through this life together for 73 years. Clyde retired from the Union Carbide Y-12 plant. Clyde will be fondly remembered by his wit, his happy laugh, storytelling abilities, love of family, persevering faith, and devotion to his special wife, Ely. He was preceded in death by his parents Fielden and Donia Buchanan Cook; granddaughter, Deborah Cook; and great grandchildren Andy Hasbrouck and Gabriel Hasbrouck.
Clyde was father to three children: son, Clyde Cook, Jr. (married to Betty Jeffers) of Clinton; daughter Jean Pope (married to Buddy Pope) of Lenoir City and daughter, Carol Wolfenbarger (married to Gary Wolfenbarger) of Knoxville. Clyde was blessed with 8 grandchildren: Tammy Cook Turnbill (married to Rick Turnbill), Elena Cook Dotson (married to Dennis Dotson), Sherry Cook Mohr (married to Jeff Mohr), Esther Cook Brady (married to Bryan Brady); Kim Pope Jaggers (married to Deron Jaggers), Chuck Pope (married to Shauna Pope), and Kelley Kerns Hasbrouck (married to Jason Hasbrouck). Clyde also enjoyed 16 great grandchildren: Isaac Mohr, Hannah Mohr, Caleb Mohr, Elijah Mohr, Victoria Mohr, Jacob Turnbill, Joshua Turnbill, Jeremiah Turnbill, Will Jaggers, Ben Jaggers, Abi Jaggers, Bryce Adams, Bradleigh Thomassian, Chase Pope, Allyson Pope, and Dylan Hasbrouck.
Family will receive friends 5:00-7:00PM on Thursday, June 18, 2015 at Holley- Gamble Funeral Home. Service will follow at 7:00PM in the chapel.
