On Feb. 26, 2013, Charles Hubert Hill Senior, drove through the gates of Heaven, completing his journey on earth. He was surrounded by loving family and friends.

Charles was born May 12, 1929, in Clinton TN, the son of William and Mary (Hutton) Hill. He was the oldest son of seven children.

He and Wanda (Lee) were married on May 20, 1950. Chuck served proudly in the U. S. Army during the Korean War, reaching the rank of Corporal. He worked as an auto body repairman his entire life, retiring from Melton Motors in 1992. Restoring old cars was his passion. He earned many trophies for his work. He was proudest of the one presented to him by Kaye Lani Rae Rafko., former Miss America.

Chuck leaves behind a legacy of love and friendships; a wealth of amazing stories of his youth in Tennessee and his tour of duty in Germany; and a profound appreciation and love of life. He had recently started raising chickens.

He is survived by Wanda (Lee), his wife of 62 years; three daughters, Vickie Adams, Deborah Evans, and Mitzi (Ed) Straub; and a son and best friend, Charles H. Hill, Jr.; grandchildren, Ali Marie Benore, Sherri (Sean) Golder, C. Thomas (Monique) Loope, Bridget (Jeff) McCracken, and Alexander Adams; great grandchildren, Thomas,Taylor, Tanner and Trevor Loope; Jason, Bradley, and Landon McCracken; sisters, Jo Ann Hoffman, Lou Robbins, Sharon Martin and Sharlene McCutcheon. He was also anticipating the birth of his first great great grandchild.

He was preceeded in death by his parents, sister Gloria Williams and brother Steven Disney.

The family will receive friends 10:30-12:00 noon, Friday, March 1, 2013 at Holley Gamble Funeral Home with funeral services following in the chapel.
