Charles William Lee Turnbill, 89, of Clinton died peacefully Tuesday, October 5, 2010.
He was an electrician who was employed at Y-12 before his retirement in 1993. He served his country in World War II and was awarded the Silver Star for his service in the Korean Conflict. He was a devout member of Crossroads Baptist Church in Knoxville where he enjoyed the music of the church and supported mission programs, especially those who served in Haiti.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Claire Lindsey Turnbill and parents, Frank and Eva Turnbill of Clinton.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, October 6, 2010 at Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton from 6-8:00p.m. Funeral Services will be Thursday, October 7th at 11:00a.m. in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Timothy Roller officiating. Graveside service will follow at Sunset Cemetery in Clinton. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Crossroads Baptist Church Mission Program, 7503 Bell Rd., Knoxville, TN 37938-2638 or the American Cancer Society.
