Cecil Dennis Collins Jr., 69, of Claxton passed away on August 5th of 2025. He was born in Oak Ridge and graduated from Clinton High School, class of 1974. Dennis made a living using his excellent paint and body skills to restore classic cars, but his real passion was music. He began playing from a very early age and for most of his life, he was the lead guitarist for The Road Runner Band and played music all across East Tennessee. He loved to fish and every Sunday, you would find him glued to that week's NASCAR race. He was an avid fan of Dale Earnhardt Sr. and followed his career from beginning to tragic end.
He was preceded in death by parents, Cecil Dennis Sr. and Carolyn (Hall).
He is survived by his three children; Annie (Scott), Jessica, and Kevin; grandchildren Katie (Jordan), Alexis, and Maddie; great-grandson Hudson; brothers Chris (Traci) and Dwayne (Janice); as well as many, many extended family and friends.
The family will receive from on Sunday, August 10th from 2pm – 4pm at Holley Gamble Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held the following Monday, August 11th at 11am at Woodhaven Memorial Gardens. While flowers are welcome and appreciated, the family also encourages funds to be donated to the American Diabetes Association.
