Catherine ("Bill") Louise Glandon, age 91, formerly of Kingston, went home to be with the Lord September 1 at Norris Health and Rehabilitation Center. She loved the Lord, her family, and gardening. Before health issues forced her move to Norris, she was a very active member of Cedar Grove Baptist Church in Kingston and a member of their Joy Group. After her move to Norris, when her health permitted, she attended Norris First Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by husband, Kelley N. Glandon; parents, Clay and Litha Foust, of Lake City; sisters, Florene Stamps of Lake City, and Margaret Fox Best of Clinton.
Catherine is survived by the youngest of four sisters, Jean Hunt, of Oak Ridge; Son, Kelly A. Glandon and wife, Dianna, of Knoxville; daughters, Cheryl Miles of Carrollton, GA, Rhonda Woodfin, and husband, Sammy, of Andersonville. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Wendy Flanagan and husband, Stacey, of Carrollton, GA; Brian Glandon and wife Rachel, of Knoxville; Ashley Arnold and husband Lucas, of Knoxville; Nikki Glandon of Park City, Utah; and Sara Meyer and husband John, of Norris. "Granny Bill" took pride in being a Great Grandmother to Emma Renee, Raylan Kimber, and Rese Ann. Also, survived by special family friend, Bobbie Guettner, of Kingston and several loving nieces and nephews.
The receiving of friends will be at Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton from 5:30-7 p.m. on Thursday, September 4, with funeral services to immediately follow, conducted by Pastor Wayne Phillips of Main Street Baptist Church of Lake City. Her family will meet for graveside service at 9 a.m. Friday, September 5, at Woodhaven Memorial Gardens.
The family would like to thank the staff at Norris Health and Rehabilitation Center for their kindness, patience, and loving care of "Granny Bill." The family would also like to thank Dr. Michael A. MacKay and staff at Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge.
