Cassie Geneva Hall, age 93, of Clinton, entered into heavens gates on September 4, 2013. Cassie's life began May 6, 1920 when she was born to Dulin Hill and Carrie Elizabeth Reed Hill. She joined a family of two brothers, Hoil and Hubert and sister, Edna Ruth; aunt, Dora Caroline Reed. Cassie later welcomed a second sister, Wanda. The Hill family lived and enjoyed life on a farm in Gaylor Hollow. This being the area the government decided to build Norris Dam State Park. Cassie and family were relocated to Lake City/Dutch Valley in Anderson County. When Cassie was a teenager she met a dark and handsome coalminer from Caryville/Jacksboro, James Phillip Nash. There were two daughters born, Verlia Mae and Margaret Ann while living in Dutch Valley Community.

Cassie, Jim and the girls moved into a Lake City rental of Mr. Frank Martin of Martins Funeral Home behind the Norris Theater in Lake City. Jim continued working the coalmines and became very ill. He was able to stay at home and see to the girls, Verlia and Margaret while Cassie began work at the beginning of Oak Ridge Atomic Energy Manhattan Project (Secret City) during World War II. Cassie worked there until 1947. Mr. Nash died. Cassie, Verlia, Margaret, and aunt Dora moved to Dayton, OH and joined Jim's sister, Maggie Roddy and family; Mary Evelyn, Litton, Betty, and James. Cassie rented two rooms in Maggie's house and worked at NCR. Aunt Dora took wonderful care of Cassie's girls as did cousin, James Roddy "no one picked on the girls for fear of cousin James."

Cassie met Arthur E. Hall at NCR. Like all southern folks that went north to make a living she always wanted to return south. Cassie and Art moved to Blowing Springs Community outside of Clinton, TN in the mid 50's. They joined Blowing Springs Missionary Baptist Church where Cassie taught Jr. Girls Sunday School, Bible School, and worked in the WMU. Art had brother hood and was on every group helping anyone in need. Cassie enjoyed AARP, camping in their Pace Arrow motorhome at Cove Lake Park while Art worked at K25. Cassie was the soda jerk at the Flat Hoskins Drug Store on Market Street in Clinton, TN while enjoying driving her slick corvette. Cassie made wonderful grilled sandwiches and mouthwatering banana splits. Poor Bill Lang was constantly on her for making them to big! Art gave her a small television to watch her Soaps while on her lunch break at Hoskins.

Cassie lost Art to a heart condition in 1983. Cassie continued to see friends camping, enjoying her church, and AARP group meetings. With the aid of son in law, Joe McDonald and Margaret she began another new adventure, a new houseboat and living at Sequoyah Marina on Norris Lake.

Cassie's daughter, Verlia gave Cassie her first granddaughter, Vickie Ann and later twin grandchildren, Gary and Terry Lynn. Margaret Ann gave her two grandsons, John Arthur and Brian Ellis. Terry Lynn gave Cassie her first great great grandchildren, Ashley Lynn and Courtney Lauren; grandson, Gary and wife Teresa had Matthew and Josh. Dr. John Arthur and his wife Marie's family is Erica and Alyssa Goble, Nikki, Cadence, and Quinn Peavely. Cassie was always proud of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren's accomplishments; Vickie Ann was in the Army and was a Quality Control Engineer; UT graduates Dick, Gary & wife Teresa Chapman; Terry Lynn, account executive/ facility solutions; Rev. Dr. John Myers served in the Air Force; Dr. Brian Myers; Ashley Lynn Hays RN; Courtney Hays Cleveland , CNA and Special Education Teacher; all total grandchildren and great grandchildren, 2 doctors, Deacon, RN, policeman/ K9 Swat Team, Special Education Teacher, Realtor, Cosmetologist, bachelor degree in Criminal Justice. Cassie's great great grandson, Josh Chapman is an engineer.

The Hall family would like to thank June Hashbarger, Wanda M. Rhea, and Sandy Barber. Also, Deacon Don Henderson who faithfully visited and hauled the trash away.

The family will receive friends 11:00-12:00 pm, Saturday, September 7, 2013 at Holley Gamble Funeral Home with funeral services following in the chapel. Her burial will follow at the Woodhaven Memorial Garden. Holley Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton is in charge of all arrangements. holleygamblefh.com
